yeah…..Moday…. Monday, Aug 4 2008

It’s sad that Monday gets a bad rep out of the days of the week.  But it is the day when most of us have to go back to…the good prison (aka work It’s good because we get real paycheck)  Don’t get me wrong, I’m blessed to be given another day and I truly understand that statement.  That’s not the part of my day that makes me say…yeah.  It’s my job, like so many of us out here in the world, I’m just not that crazy about my job.  Although it’s not like I have a terrible job, you know like the TV show where the host shows you what terrible jobs are, the ones no one wants to do.  It’s just that I’m not happy with what I do.  Monday thru Friday I come in to work, hear the crazies (my co-workers), work on the mail, work on a project from hell, listen to the crazies, mail, projects, give one or more crazies the ”you must have lost your mind” look, watch the crazies do some of the dumbest things ever done by ”Adults” (It still amazes me that I’m the youngest person in here), work on some more mail, go to lunch (hopeing my latest book will carry my mind away from here), listen to more crazies, work on some more mail, work on some more projects from hell, and finally the best part of the day…..run out of here at 4:30 screaming “I’m free…I’m Free!!!”

Although I’m not thrilled with my job I do know that I am truly blessed to have a job, and remind myself of that daily.   Not to mention I am working for a change.  Besides looking for another job, I’m also going back to school for my degree from Morgan State University(…Go BEARS!).  I’m planning on being done in 2010 (People whatever you do truly get your degree.  It may be hard at the time and better opportunities many seem like they come your way but there is not worst than going to work everyday, know the dumb dumb sitting next to you is not only moving up the ladder faster than you but also getting the paycheck you should be getting since you know and do their job 80% better than they do all because they have there degree!!!!)  hmm…back to the grind

Baby names have gone too far in New Zealand! Thursday, Jul 24 2008

The courts in New Zealand make a 9 year old girl the ward of the courts based on the very poor judgment of her parent’s naming her “Talula Does The Hula From Hawaii”.

What is wrong with these people???

Read the articale below from Yahoo!News:

WELLINGTON, New Zealand – A family court judge in New Zealand has had enough with parents giving their children bizarre names here, and did something about it.

Just ask Talula Does The Hula From Hawaii. He had her renamed.

Judge Rob Murfitt made the 9-year-old girl a ward of the court so that her name could be changed, he said in a ruling made public Thursday. The girl was involved in a custody battle, he said.

The new name was not made public to protect the girl’s privacy.

“The court is profoundly concerned about the very poor judgment which this child’s parents have shown in choosing this name,” he wrote. “It makes a fool of the child and sets her up with a social disability and handicap, unnecessarily.”

The girl had been so embarrassed at the name that she had never told her closest friends what it was. She told people to call her “K” instead, the girl’s lawyer, Colleen MacLeod, told the court.

In his ruling, Murfitt cited a list of the unfortunate names.

Registration officials blocked some names, including Fish and Chips, Yeah Detroit, Keenan Got Lucy and Sex Fruit, he said. But others were allowed, including Number 16 Bus Shelter “and tragically, Violence,” he said.

New Zealand law does not allow names that would cause offense to a reasonable person, among other conditions, said Brian Clarke, the registrar general of Births, Deaths and Marriages.

Clarke said officials usually talked to parents who proposed unusual names to convince them about the potential for embarrassment.

One more day until Mexico!!!

winter to mid-summer 2008 Tuesday, Jul 8 2008

Ok, so it’s been a while since I’ve written anything…more like a couple of months, LOL. But I’m back.  It seams as though 2008 is flying by.  Wasn’t it just New Year’s Eve?  Here it is July and I’m just getting back to writing.  I need to do better.

Ok so what’ new.  First… I am the proud owner of a Honda Civic EX-L Navigation coupe.  The little blue car came into my life on New Year’s Eve (a late Christmas gift to myself) and was named Baby “Blue” Scott.  I love my car!  He has everything leather seats & steering wheel, XM radio, MP3 player, CD player, touch screen & voice-activated Navigation, and a big trunk for all my bags.  Although he is small, Baby is my luxury car with the bells & whistle, not to mention I finally have HORSE-Power!!!   Baby is the first car I’ve gotten off my dream car list.  If you’ve ever gotten anything big off of your dream what list…you know how important this is.

February 29, finally appeared on the calendar this year which means…I actually had a birthday this year! I’m one of those crazy Birthday people.   I make big deals about them even when it isn’t mine, so this was very…VERY important!  What is leap year you might ask?  Leap year is a year containing 1 extra day in order to keep the calendar year synchronized with the astronomical or seasonal year.  February 29th is that day for the Gregorian calendar which is widely used in the world today.   What does this mean for a leap-ling (someone born on the 29th)?  We have two ages, Our real age (which is younger) and our actually age.  Example, I turned 7 this year although I am really 28.  When the 29th doesn’t appear I celebrate my big day on March 1st (but some leap-ling celebrate theirs on February 28th).  It’s been 4 years in the making but I had the best adult birthday ever.  Surrounded, buy family and close friends it was the best!  Dancing, talking, laughing, dare I say…drinking, we had a blast!  Not to mention Daddy gave me the cutest Mystic Topaz and diamond ring ever!! *wink*wink* (LovesYa Daddy…YEAH, I’m and Mama and Daddy’s girl and what of it?)

School, I’m on summer vacation enough said.  No..LOL.  This was a tough year, but I got through and passed Accounting 1 & 2.  I loved Intro to Fashion and Interior Design though.  I am currently resting up for next semester starting next month.

Summer Vacation…Mexico here I come.  I actually leave this Sunday!  I’ve already started packing..LOL.  Here is the link for my hotel http://www.realresorts.com.mx/Gran_Porto_Real/  I’ll give a report when I get back.

Hmm I guess that’s it for now.  talk to you soon!

Paris 2007 Tuesday, Nov 13 2007

I visited Paris this past summer, and it was the best experience of my life.  Everyone should try and go at least once!!!  The French are the most friendly people, and like the opening paragraph says they are ” very nationalistic and want you to speak their language”. Once you show them you are trying, they will (for the most part) try their best to help you out, in perfect English.

We arrived on a beautiful Sunday afternoon at our hotel Les Jardins Du Marais which is located at 74 Rue Amelot, Paris 75011 France.  les-jardins-du-marais-lobby.jpg(here is a picture of the lobby) Checked in and decided to see what the area had to offer.  There were little shops, and restaurants not to mention a number of museums and gardens ever where.

Of Course I went there and had to go shopping.  The Galeries Lafayette is a must for any true Fashion Lover.  They cater to a variety of prices, and carry a variety of designers, Fendi, Gucci, Chloe, and Long Champ just to name a few.  The Louvre is no by far my favorite museum; I spent an entire day there and still didn’t see half of it.  The Eiffel Tower, is breathe taking, nothing can compare.   Try and see everything you can in Paris, there is so much to do that you’ll be planning your next trip as your plane takes off home.

More pics to come! Bonjour
